Are all Facebook user’s bloggers?

I’ve recently started blogging and really getting into the whole “Bloggersphere”, really enjoying it. But my friends come up to me and say… “I can’t believe you actually have a blog!” … OR … “You are the only guy that I know that has a blog!”

While perusing through my google reader feeds, I came across Matt Jones‘ post on… Facebook users are all bloggers.  and this made me think… yeah, that’s really true, Considering all these friends that say “they don’t know of anybody else that has a blog”… they all ON FACEBOOK!

Below is the definition of “blog” from Wikipedia

“A blog (a contraction of the term “Web log”) is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual [1], with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order”

So i ask you again… aren’t all facebook user’s bloggers? or do you feel that it a TOTALLY different thing… comment and tell me your thoughts..

Crazy Lyrics

These days… boy are there alotta funny lyrics floating around.

check this out… these are the Lyrics by a group called “Black Kids” and it’s from thier song “I’m not gonna teach him how to dance with you”

You are the girl that I’ve been dreaming of ever since I was a little girl

I’m biting my tongue
He’s kissin’ on you
Oh, why can’t you see?
One! Two! Three! Four!

The word’s on the streets and it’s on the news:
I’m not gonna teach him how to dance with you.
He’s got two left feet and he bites my moves.
I’m not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance

So reading that first line… girl i’ve been dreaming of ever since i was a little girl?  … What up with that? do girls normaly dream of other girls? or is this song dedicated to Lesbians and gays?

but must admit… it got a funky beat and pretty catchy tune!

WOW… remember the good ‘ol days!… there was NO such thing as YOUTUBE, FLICKR, IPOD, and Yahoo still had curly little flowers around thier logo!

Google are commemorating thier 10 years of existence!

So, they delved into thier archives and found an old index of thier search capabilities back in 2001! They had fun searching through this old index and decided to team up with the internet archive and they made a neat little site that is running off thier old index… search for iphone or youtube… man.. the results are VERY interesting and TOTALLY way off 😉

Search the Google search2001 and see for yourself… what the world looked like back in 2001!

The 3 Stages of Love

•29 September, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So I meandered into the office this morning after a nice weekend with the family when I casually mention to my friend, who I partied with on Friday night, that he really had a nice girlfriend (Who i met for the first time this weekend). So he agrees but says that after 7 years of being together you tend to forget what you have.

So this brought to mind… The 3 Stages Of Love

plainly put the three stages are as follows, Eros, Philia, Agape!

Eros: This love is the first love, the exotic, lust that that you feel when you meet that special person. you have butterflies in your stomach, you can’t WAIT to be with him or her. Your endorphines rush to the brain and you feel instantly happy… EVERYBODY craves and LOVES this type of love. The first touch, the first kiss… mmmmm 😉  We also project images, expectations, and ideals of the perfect mate onto your partner. The problem with this stage is that it wears off within a few months and then unless you really love the person and your love continues to grow, things could become messy.

Phillia: Here things start to become more normal, our bodies aren’t able to stay in that euphoria all the time, we need to come down to earth. This is also a very important but not-so-nice time to go through, as Suzanne E. Harrill says on her website Innerworkspublishing. She calls it the Power struggle stage. We try to ‘mould’ them into the person that we want them to be. But albeit a stage where we test and discover our partner, it is still young love, and takes a few years to get through this stage. but it is important to work on the relationship, to bring the problems out to the front and communicate and talk through it. It’s not easy, but do-able.

Agape: This is the ultimate, unconditional love. Here we TRULY understand and LOVE our partner. We know their faults but accept them, we Know where we going in life and who we going with. this is the ultimate and final stage of love. It takes years… not months… YEARS to get to this stage and once you reach this stage your love will be built on a solid foundation and everlasting.

The important thing is to still keep the love alive, keep the Eros stage and the philia stage right through. when things start getting into a rut, as they so easily do, then you must bring in the surprise eliment. bring back the fun and work and communicate with each other, not against.

Rebelgirl Puts it very nicely on your blog about this, and is a recommended read.

Just remember, each relationship is different, but in each there are similarities and as you go through each stage it’s important to remember that love is ALL ABOUT COMPROMISE!

and when you meet that “one” then make sure that there is more to the relationship then… the physical!
